This guide will show you how to configure CuteFTP Home Edition for Windows. It will provide you with the details needed to connect, and a step by step process to access your web space.
This tutorial will take you through the steps to access your files, using the CuteFTP software. CuteFTP is available here. If you have used CuteFTP and just require the main details, they are outlined below:
- Host: fpt.yourdomain.com
- Logontype: Normal
- User: Username created in manager
- Password: Password that was created through manager
1.Download CuteFTP located here, and install it.
2. Once installed, open CuteFTP (Start, All Programs, CuteFTP) and proceed to the main screen.
3. If this is the first time you have opened the software, then you will be presented with a screen below:
4. Click New to add your site. Click FTP site.
5. Fill out the required information. The details above should act as a guide for your domain. If you have any problems or questions regarding your details please contact us. 5. Once the details are completed, click Connect. You should get a little box come up stating it is connecting.
6. You’re connected! Now you can access your web space. You now have access to your documents on our server. To modify these documents, you can follow these instructions: 1. You will now have two panes- one on the left and one on the right. The pane on the left contains your files and folders (local files) and the pane on the right contains the files on your web site.
2. Using the pane on the left, find the files you want to upload to your website. You can also the drop down menu (it should say Desktop) to help you.
3. Once you have found the file you want to upload onto your website- simply double click it. You will see another bar at the bottom that will show you the file progress. 4. That’s it! Make sure you upload your main page (normally called index) and any images that go with it. This tutorial would have taught you the basics of using CuteFTP as your FTP manager.
